There are three ways to ultimate success:

Scripture
Matthew 27:57-66

When evening came,
a rich man from Arimathea arrived.
He was called Joseph,
and he, too, was a disciple of Jesus.
He went to Pilate
and requested the body of Jesus…
He laid it in his own new tomb,
which he had carved out of the rock.
Then he rolled a large stone
across the doorway of the tomb,
and went away.

Sometimes we Christians need to observe a Holy Saturday moment. On Holy Saturday there is nothing you can do except wait. So Joseph sealed the tomb and went away to wait.

God will do what God will do, in God’s own time. Our part is to keep Holy Saturday in faith and hope, grieving over the ruin of the world that sent Jesus to his death, trusting in the promises of God that new life will come.

Sometimes as we work for and with Jesus we find that we just aren’t sure why we’ve gotten to this place, why things aren’t going as we wanted or planned, and life seems to have drained out of it all. That’s a Holy Saturday moment. Do what has to be done and then wait for God to act in God’s own way and in God’s own time.

Meditation

In this time of silence let’s admit that we want to be in control…that there is always something we can do…always something undone that needs to be done. Then let’s think about the times that attitude has gotten us into trouble. Now, experience the freedom that just waiting and turning everything over to God can bring.

Closing Prayer

Help us, gracious Lord, to wait for your victory, and in the meantime to serve you in whatever way we can…always confident that you, not all of us, are in control. Amen.

As you complete your time of meditation and prayer Tamara invites you to reflect on the words of this song…

May the grace and peace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ,
be with you now and forevermore…
